Opti-flor is a leading family-owned company specializing in the cultivation of exclusive orchids. With a strong focus on quality, innovation, and customer experience, Opti-flor develops a unique range of blooming plants for the high-end market. In 2024, the company took an important next step in its growth ambitions with the opening of its new R&D greenhouse ‘Roots’ in Monster. At this location, hundreds of new orchid varieties are tested annually for cultivability and market potential.

For this forward-thinking facility, we were responsible for the complete water technology installation. Orchids are a challenging crop with specific requirements for climate and water management. This called for an advanced and precisely controlled system that could seamlessly integrate with various other installations within the project. It was a rewarding technical challenge, where close collaboration with Opti-flor and all partners led to a fully integrated solution tailored to the grower’s needs.

In addition to ‘Roots’, we began work in 2023 on the installation of the electrical and water systems for a new greenhouse at Waellandweg. Future-proofing was key in this project: both the design and construction were carried out with a potential expansion in mind, allowing the installations to be easily scaled up. This project is scheduled for completion in the autumn of 2025.
